Data We Provide*

Standard Limited Data Sets

We offer a standard limited data set (SLDS) data extract that follows the HIPAA definition of a limited data set. It includes eligibility, medical, pharmacy, medical ICD diagnosis and medical ICD procedures. The SLDS is “on the shelf” and available relatively quickly upon request.

Custom Data Sets

We offer a custom data extract, as defined by the end user, that can be requested to support unique use cases. This can include claims as well as clinical data elements.

Data Enhancements

DHIN is always looking to enrich its data assets with high-value enhancements. Examples of data enhancements that can be requested as part of a data request application are:

  • Census Tract
  • Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS—County Code)
  • Member Year (Annual Member Demographic and Coverage Summary)
  • Restructured Berenson-Eggers Type of Service (BETOS) Classification System (RBCS)
  • Medicare Severity Diagnosis-Related Groups (MS-DRGs)

*Please note: Many data files that DHIN releases require an application that is reviewed and approved by the Data Access Review Committee (DARC), as well as an executed Data Use Agreement and Analytics Service Agreement before release.
